Directions
- Dry-fry the flour over low heat, constantly stirring, without letting it burn or become too dark. When it smells good and loses its raw flour taste, remove it from the heat.
- Melt the butter in a frying pan, add the oil, mix, and then gradually pour the toasted flour through a sieve while mixing until it is smooth.
- Add the sugar, cardamom, saffron, and, if desired, a touch of vanilla, and stir. ≈ 4 min
- Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly until you have a smooth mixture, then add the rose water and continue stirring until the halva thickens. ≈ 4 min
- When it separates from the edges of the frying pan and comes together in the center, it’s ready: spread it out on a serving dish.
