Fried sweet potato chips with osmanthus syrup
Sweet potato slices coated in batter, deep-fried until golden, and then drizzled with a maltose syrup infused with osmanthus flower jam.
A touch of Taiwan: Osmanthus, a small flower with a peach-like fragrance, is sold in pots as jam (guihua jiang). When mixed with maltose, it coats the crispy sweet potatoes.
