Directions
- Sift the flour with the salt. Make a well in the center, add the egg and oil, and mix until a ball forms. ≈ 10 min
- Gradually add the warm milk, then knead until you have a firm but elastic dough. Cover with a dishcloth and let it rest for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, finely grate the cheese, add the sugar, vanilla sugar, rum extract, and lemon zest, and mix until the mixture is smooth. Add the egg and semolina, and mix well; if the cheese is very wet, add a spoonful of semolina. ≈ 4 min
- Fill a large saucepan with water, large enough so that the kolaches don’t overlap or stick together. Bring the water to a boil.
- Roll out the dough thinly and cut out discs that are 5 to 6 cm in diameter, or squares that are 4 to 5 cm in size. ≈ 8 min
- Place a small spoonful of filling on one half of each shape, then fold the other half in half to create a crescent or triangle shape, and firmly seal the edges. ≈ 3 min
- Place the pasta in boiling water and cook over medium heat until it floats to the surface, about 10-15 minutes. Drain for 1 minute.
- Serve with sour cream and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. ≈ 2 min
