Banana quark cakes
Azerbaijani banana-shaped cakes: a sweet cream-based dough filled with sweetened ricotta cheese, baked in the oven, and then sprinkled with powdered sugar.
These small cakes, known as “banan şirniyyatı,” get their shape from the folding of the dough. They are made with a sour cream-based dough and sweetened yogurt cheese.
