This Vietnamese dish gives a new life to stale bread. The slices, filled with fragrant meat seasoned with lemongrass, are steamed.

Directions
- Quickly pass the bread under the water without letting it soak, otherwise it will become soggy. Cut it into 2 cm thick slices, either long or round, depending on your preference. ≈ 8 min
- Cut the cassava or carrots into small cubes. ≈ 8 min
- Finely chop the onion. ≈ 8 min
- Also, finely chop the lemongrass. Heat some oil paint in a pan and briefly sauté the onion, garlic, and lemongrass.
- Add the ground beef and pork to the hot pan, then season with salt, pepper, and fish sauce, being careful not to overcook the meat.
- Spread the meat on the bread, arrange it in a shallow dish, and steam until the meat is cooked through. Serve with fish sauce, or roll it up in mustard leaves – it’s delicious.
