Directions

  1. Wash and peel the apples. Core one 1.3 kg apple without piercing the bottom, and cut the rest into slices. ≈ 8 min
  2. Mix the butter with 50g of sugar, then add the grapes and a teaspoon of cinnamon. ≈ 3 min
  3. Melt 50g of sugar in a heatproof saucepan and spread the caramel evenly over the sides.
  4. Cover the bottom of the apple slices. Fill the hollowed-out apples with the butter mixture and stand them upright, with the opening facing upwards. ≈ 10 min
  5. Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  6. Separate the eggs, and whisk the whites until stiff peaks form. ≈ 10 min
  7. Beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla sugar, then the oil and warm water. Gently fold in the flour mixed with the yeast, followed by the whites. ≈ 4 min
  8. Pour this mixture over the apples and bake for approximately 40 minutes. Let it cool before serving.
  9. Whip the cream until it forms stiff peaks. ≈ 4 min
  10. Turn the cake upside down on a plate, cover it with whipped cream, and decorate with piped cream, using apple slices or strawberries.
