A green chili and walnut curry sauce, traditionally served with Hyderabad-style biryani.
Mirchi ka salan is a popular curry sauce made with chili peppers and walnuts, originating from Hyderabad, India. It is ideally served with rice biryani, particularly in its Hyderabadi variation.

Directions
- Toast the shredded coconut, sesame seeds, and peanuts without any oil. Finely chop them and mix together to create a powder.
- Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds, barley grass seeds, and curry leaves. Then add the green peppers and cook for 3 minutes.
- Add the coconut, sesame, and peanut mixture to the hot pepper frying and cook until the oil separates from the peppers.
- Next, add the salt, turmeric, and tamarind juice, then cook over low heat until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from the heat and garnish with cilantro leaves. ≈ 10 min
