Kung phan oi, shrimp on sugarcane sticks
A Thai-inspired dish: shrimp and pork filling wrapped in sugarcane sticks, steamed, breaded, and then fried.
The sugarcane stick serves here as a skewer, gently flavoring the shrimp and pork filling. Steaming followed by a quick frying gives the sticks a soft interior and a crispy exterior.
