These Catalan field apples are prepared similarly to tortillas: sliced thinly and slowly cooked in fat. Garlic and parsley are added towards the end of cooking to enhance the flavor.

Directions

  1. Peel the apples and cut them into very thin slices, similar to those used for making tortillas. ≈ 8 min
  2. In a pan, add the salted apples and cook over low heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Once cooked, drain them of any excess fat and transfer them to a serving dish. ≈ 2 min
  4. Garnish with chopped garlic and parsley, then serve immediately. ≈ 2 min
