Bunga pudak, coconut sticky rice cakes
Small, slightly misshapen rice cakes, filled with sweetened shredded coconut, scented with rose, and colored red and green.
Bunga pudak is a popular Malaysian dessert: a thin, sticky rice flour dough, shaped into circles in a pan, then topped with sweet coconut and folded into a square. The topping, which has a rose fragrance, takes on two different colors.
