Directions
- In a frying pan, heat the olive oil and add the minced garlic.
- Add the tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of basil, tomato paste, salt, pepper, a dash of Tabasco, and a pinch of sugar. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
- Spread the shortcrust pastry evenly in a tart tin and place the Gouda on top. ≈ 3 min
- Add the prepared tomato sauce and tomato wedges, then sprinkle with grated Gruyère cheese. ≈ 2 min
- Bake the pie for 30 minutes at 210 °C.
- Serve hot or warm, garnished with fresh basil and a few lettuce leaves. ≈ 2 min
