Lepat is an Indonesian specialty made with sticky rice, coconut, and salt. It is wrapped in coconut leaves and then simmered for a long time.

Directions

  1. Wash the sticky rice, soak it for half an hour, and drain it. Mix it with salt and shredded coconut, then steam it for about half the usual time.
  2. Soak the kidney beans for 30 minutes, then cook them until tender. Mix them with the coconut rice and salt.
  3. Wrap the preparation in coconut leaves, tie it with rice straw, and then boil.
