Directions
- Boil the eggs for about 10 minutes in a pot of salted water.
- Peel them and cut them in half. Remove the pulp with a spoon or your fingers, and set it aside for mixing with the other ingredients of the filling. ≈ 8 min
- Prepare the filling: common combinations include mayonnaise, tuna, grilled bell pepper, olive, and anchovy (similar to a Russian salad), or béchamel, ground meat, egg, and breadcrumbs, which can then be baked. You can also use onion, carrot, crab sticks, or crumbled biscuits.
- Mix, chop, or blend the chosen mixture until you have a uniform consistency, then fill the egg halves with it. ≈ 10 min
- Finish the dish with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of salt. You can line the bottom of the plate with one of the sauces (using the mayonnaise, add a few lettuce leaves) to help the eggs stay in place. ≈ 3 min
