Directions
- Thoroughly wash the rice and let it soak in muslin bags for 2 nights.
- Once the time has elapsed, rinse thoroughly to remove any lingering odor. ≈ 2 min
- Next, grind it into flour and place it in small fabric bags. ≈ 3 min
- Hang them up or lay them flat to dry. ≈ 3 min
- Once they are slightly damp, place them flat. ≈ 3 min
- Add heavy objects to speed up the drying process. ≈ 3 min
- Once the flour is dry, grind it into a fine powder.
- Add honey and mix well until you achieve a smooth, even consistency. ≈ 4 min
- Use your hands to check the texture and quality of the powder. ≈ 3 min
- When you see that the powder is smooth and you can spread it without it breaking, you can use it. ≈ 3 min
- Taste to ensure that the result is satisfactory. ≈ 2 min
- Sprinkle the mixture into a large pan over low heat.
- Apply a thin layer of oil paint and beaten egg white.
- Once the pan is very hot, pour the mixture into a coconut shell, a specially designed container for sprinkling, or a pot.
- Create small holes in the bottom of the container to allow air to circulate. ≈ 3 min
- To apply the dough, it should be spread evenly over the entire surface of the pan, in multiple layers, until the desired thickness is achieved.
- Once cooked, use a thin spatula to shape the mixture into patties. ≈ 3 min
- Place the pancakes on top of each other, making sure they are well separated. ≈ 3 min
- Add more portions of dough, making sure to evenly distribute the oil paint and beaten eggs each time. ≈ 3 min
- Sticky rice cakes are rich in protein due to the flour, sugar, and egg yolks, and also contain fats. ≈ 3 min
- They represent an exceptional skill, achieved by combining sticky rice flour with honey, and then slowly pouring this mixture onto a hot pan containing oil paint.
- This allows for the creation of thin and delicate wafers, resembling silk, with a grid-like pattern. ≈ 3 min
