Directions
Starch-based version
- Pour the milk into a pot, sift the cocoa and flour, and add the sugar. ≈ 2 min
- Heat while whisking until the mixture thickens.
Version with cornstarch
- Pour the milk into a pot, then strain the cocoa and Maizena into the pot to prevent lumps from forming. ≈ 2 min
- Turn on the heat and whisk: the cocoa and Maizena gradually dissolve in the milk as it heats up. Continue until the mixture thickens, bringing the milk to just below a simmer, or slightly warmer.
