Directions
- Place the ribeirais in a bowl. Gently heat the milk broth, season with salt, and pour it over the ribeirais. Stir gently. Cover and let it simmer for at least 3 hours.
- Melt the flour in melted butter or warm cream over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it turns a golden color. Cover regularly to prevent it from drying out.
- Gradually add the butter, stirring constantly. Continue cooking for 15-20 minutes, until small, golden-brown pieces (Ribel) form.
- Serve the Ribel with apple compote. Any other fruit compote can also be used. The Ribel can also be sprinkled with caramel or cocoa. Any remaining Ribel can be used for breakfast, instead of oatmeal or cereal, by soaking it in milk or enjoying it in coffee.
