Directions
- The water is brought to a boil in a 4-litre cast iron pot, with salt added.
- Once the water starts to boil, add half of the maize, stirring constantly.
- We let it simmer over low heat until the mixture reaches the consistency of a dough (which is known as “pâsat” or “pasat”).
- Next, the remaining corn is added, and the mixture is stirred constantly. ≈ 3 min
- The mixture is then cooked, according to preference, to achieve a firmer dough; a longer simmering time will result in a firmer texture.
- It is served on a plate and can be enjoyed hot, alongside a variety of dishes: cabbage rolls, chicken in cream sauce, fish with garlic, a fish salad, a meat or mushroom terrine, mashed potatoes, grilled sausages, etc.
