Directions

  1. Prepare a syrup by bringing the wine, sugar, and spices to a boil in a pot.
  2. Peel the pears without cutting them. ≈ 8 min
  3. When the wine is simmering, add the pears and reduce the heat. ≈ 3 min
  4. Cover the pot and allow to simmer gently for 20 to 30 minutes.
  5. When the pears are soft all the way to the core, remove them. ≈ 3 min
  6. Continue cooking the syrup for a few minutes to achieve the desired thickness.
  7. Drizzle the pears with syrup. ≈ 3 min
  8. Let it cool completely, and then refrigerate if desired, to serve it very cold.
