Directions
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions.
- Finely chop the onion and slice the mushrooms. ≈ 8 min
- Add the onions back to the pan over medium-low heat, and cook for 8-15 minutes, until they are tender. Add the mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes, then season with pepper, salt, and herbs, and optionally with cumin.
- Pour, along with the cream and wine (if using dried basil, add it now so it can absorb the flavors), and simmer over high heat for 5 minutes.
- Finally, add the chopped basil, olive oil, a splash of soy sauce for color if desired, and the well-drained beans. ≈ 3 min
- Mix the pasta sauce and serve. ≈ 4 min
