Directions
- Grate the Gruyère and cut the ham into squares the same size as the bread slices. ≈ 8 min
- Butter one side of each slice of bread and then layer the unbuttered side with ham and cheese. ≈ 10 min
- Cover with a slice of bread. ≈ 3 min
- Grill the croque-monsieur for five minutes. ≈ 3 min
- Preheat the oven for 10 minutes at 210 °C.
- Spread one side of a slice of bread with margarine. ≈ 3 min
- Place a half-slice of cheese sandwich, cut diagonally, on a plate. ≈ 3 min
- Add half a slice of ham. ≈ 3 min
- Place the remaining half of the cheese on top. ≈ 3 min
- Place the second slice of bread on top. ≈ 3 min
- Spread margarine on the top of this bread. ≈ 3 min
- Sprinkle grated Gruyère cheese on top. ≈ 3 min
- Bake in the oven at 210 °C for 12 minutes.
