Homemade elderflower syrup
A syrup made with elderflower and lemon, macerated for three days, then filtered and bottled. Can be diluted, or served with white wine and gin.
This elderflower syrup is made by macerating elderflowers and lemon slices in a syrup of citric acid for three days. Dilute it to use as a refreshing drink.

Directions
- Slice the lemons. ≈ 8 min
- Layer the lemon slices and elderflower blossoms in a large saucepan. ≈ 3 min
- Bring the water to a boil and dissolve the sugar and citric acid in it.
- Pour the warm syrup over the flowers and let it sit for three days.
- Filter and pour into bottles. To preserve the syrup for a longer period, add a food preservative such as sodium benzoate. ≈ 3 min
- Dilute and enjoy. This syrup is also delicious in a cocktail with white wine and gin. ≈ 3 min
