Directions
- Mix the flour and oil paint in a large bowl. Add the warm water and mix vigorously until a smooth paste forms. ≈ 4 min
- Roll the dough between your hands to release the air, then form small balls. Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough into discs about 2 mm thick. ≈ 10 min
- Use a cookie cutter or the bottom of a cup to cut out discs of dough. Place a tablespoon of filling in the center of each disc. ≈ 8 min
- Fold the pierogi in half, bringing the edges together and pressing gently to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges closed. ≈ 3 min
- Cook the pierogi in a large pot of salted water for 5 to 7 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
- Drain them and serve hot. ≈ 2 min
