Directions
- Combine the flour, beer, and egg yolks to create a smooth batter. ≈ 4 min
- Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
- Add the oil paint and gently fold in the beaten egg whites. ≈ 4 min
- Gentle version: caramelize, add honey and/or a scraped vanilla bean
- Spicy version: add salt, chopped walnuts, nutmeg, curry, and/or herbs to taste. ≈ 3 min
- Wrap the daisy flowers in a French fry batter.
- Fry the flower petals, wrapped in warm oil paint, in a pan or deep-fat fryer for a few minutes until they are golden brown.
