The Mimosa salad is layered: crushed canned fish, softened onion, grated cheese, and crumbled egg yolk, which resembles mimosa flowers. Mayonnaise and sour cream bind the ingredients together for a fresh, quick-to-prepare salad.

Directions

  1. Separate the white and yolk from the hard-boiled eggs. ≈ 2 min
  2. Grate the egg white along with the cheese. ≈ 8 min
  3. Crush the fish with a fork after removing the bones. ≈ 4 min
  4. Finely chop the onion and remove any bitterness. ≈ 8 min
  5. Finely chop the egg yolk. ≈ 8 min
  6. Assemble the salad in layers in the following order: fish, onion, egg white and cheese, then egg yolk. ≈ 10 min
  7. Spread mayonnaise and sour cream between the layers. ≈ 4 min
  8. To remove the bitterness from onions, cut them, pour boiling water over them, and then rinse them with cold water.
  9. Another method: finely chop the onion, rinse it under cold water, and let it soak in apple cider vinegar for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse it again.
