Corn dogs
The corn dog, an American snack: a hot dog sausage on a stick, coated in a cornmeal batter, and then deep-fried until golden and crispy.
Originating in the United States, the corn dog has become a popular snack, even in Bangladesh, particularly among children. The cornmeal-based dough, lightly sweetened and seasoned, forms a crispy crust around the sausage.

Directions
- If desired, briefly blanch the sausages, then let them cool and insert a skewer into each one.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the corn flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, pepper, and powdered mustard. ≈ 4 min
- Add the egg and milk, and mix until you have a thick, but not too runny or too dense, batter. ≈ 4 min
- Pour ease the process, pour the batter into a tall glass, so you can easily submerge the sausages. ≈ 3 min
- Dip each sausage in the batter to ensure it is thoroughly coated, then immediately place it in the hot oil.
- Fry in medium heat, so that the coating becomes crispy and the sausage is thoroughly cooked inside.
- Once the corn dogs are golden brown, drain them on paper towels. ≈ 2 min
