Directions
- Wash the herring. ≈ 2 min
- Soak the dried apricots in warm water for 15 minutes.
- Peel the olives. ≈ 8 min
- Remove the sharp edges from the collar, cut it into small pieces, and dry it with paper towels. ≈ 8 min
- Chop the onion into thin slices and sauté it in a pan with 3 to 4 tablespoons of oil. ≈ 8 min
- Mix the mackerel pieces together and pan-fry them on both sides for a few minutes.
- Add the tomato puree (the amount can vary depending on whether you prefer a drier or creamier dish), olives, and grapes. ≈ 3 min
- Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes.
- Cook the salt until they are tender, and, if desired, add chopped or powdered chili peppers.
