Directions
- Peel the shrimp and remove any mucus, but do not cut off the tails. ≈ 8 min
- Cut the shrimp in half lengthwise, but not completely through. ≈ 8 min
- Combine the soy sauce, sherry, garlic, ginger, and salt, then marinate the shrimp for 15 minutes.
- Coat the shrimp with cornstarch, then pat dry. ≈ 3 min
- Then, coat the shrimp with beaten eggs and breadcrumbs. ≈ 3 min
- Carefully separate the two halves, in a way that creates a butterfly-like shape (or dragonfly shape). ≈ 2 min
- Heat the oil paint and cook the shrimp in portions, until they are golden brown.
- Serve with a spicy pepper sauce or thin spaghetti with calamari. ≈ 2 min
