Directions
- Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add the milk and heat until it reaches 37 °C.
- Sift the yeast into a bowl, add the liquid for the dough, and mix. ≈ 4 min
- Add the sugar, salt, and most of the flour. ≈ 3 min
- Work the dough with a fork or spatula until it starts to separate from the sides of the bowl. ≈ 3 min
- Spread the dough on a work surface and incorporate the remaining flour. ≈ 4 min
- Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and no longer sticks. ≈ 10 min
- Return the dough to the bowl, cover it with a clean dishcloth, and let it rise for 30 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 4 portions and spread each portion on a lightly floured work surface until you have an elongated shape. ≈ 4 min
- Divide each portion into 8 pieces and shape them into balls. ≈ 10 min
- Place them on a greased baking sheet. ≈ 3 min
- Make a cross on the top of each loaf of bread. ≈ 3 min
- Let the dough rise for 30 minutes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the balls with beaten egg, then sprinkle them with sunflower or sesame seeds. ≈ 10 min
- Bake in the oven, in the center, for approximately 8 to 10 minutes at 225-250 °C.
