Directions
- Preheat the oven to 220 °C.
- Grease the bottom of a 23 x 30 cm Pyrex glass baking dish. ≈ 3 min
- Finely chop the onion to create long, thin slices. ≈ 8 min
- Heat the onion slices and garlic cloves in the microwave on high power for 5 minutes.
- Combine the cumin, cilantro, pepper, cloves, and salt in a mortar and pestle. ≈ 4 min
- Roughly combine the chopped onion and softened garlic, beef, rice, spices, fish sauce, and basil. ≈ 4 min
- Form the meat mixture into conical cylinders (similar to small sweet potatoes) and place them in the baking dish. The “Marvins” should have a diameter of approximately 3.2 cm in the middle and a length of 13 cm. ≈ 3 min
- Drizzle the “Marvins” with hoisin sauce. ≈ 3 min
- Bake in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
