Directions
- Heat a small amount of clarified butter or oil paint in a large, heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat.
- Add the panch puran and cook gently until they begin to burst.
- Add the ground apples to the pan, stirring to ensure the seeds are evenly distributed.
- Add a small amount of turmeric powder, just enough to color the cut surfaces of all the pieces. ≈ 3 min
- Add a small amount of chili powder, to your liking. The amount will vary depending on your preferences and the heat level of the chili powder. ≈ 3 min
- Mix well to distribute the spices evenly. ≈ 4 min
- Place the lid on, reduce the heat, and let the apples steam until they are tender. If needed, you can add a little more water, but use as little as possible. The apples should not boil.
- Place the seasoned root vegetables in a baking dish and bake in a preheated oven until they are tender.
