Directions
- We mix ground meat with a little salt and grated onion to form meatballs. ≈ 3 min
- We fry them in a little bit of oil.
- If using chicken thighs, they should be cut into small pieces and cooked with fried onions. ≈ 3 min
- We add water and lentils, and let it simmer over low heat until the meat and lentils are cooked (it’s clear that the cooking time will be shorter if we have already prepared meatballs).
- Next, we peel and chop the carrots, which we then add to the meat. ≈ 3 min
- We rinse the rice and mix it with turmeric, salt, and pepper, then add it to the meat. ≈ 3 min
- We keep the heat low and stir occasionally to ensure that all the ingredients cook through completely. ≈ 3 min
- Finally, just before serving, a few fresh mint leaves are added. ≈ 2 min
- This recipe is enough for 10 to 12 people, provided that the specified quantities are followed. ≈ 3 min
