Apple bread, a German bread made with apples, hazelnuts, and grapes.
German apple bread: a yeast-free bread with apples, spiced with cinnamon, cocoa, cloves, and gingerbread, and filled with whole grapes and hazelnuts.
The day before, the chopped apples are soaked with sugar, spices, rum, grapes, and hazelnuts. This creates a flavorful liquid that moistens the dough. The next day, simply add the flour and yeast, and bake for one and a half hours.
