Directions
- After thoroughly washing and draining the sticky rice, mix it with baking soda powder. ≈ 4 min
- Let it sit for a night, so that the baking soda can penetrate the rice.
- The corn husks and bamboo strings are placed in a pot filled with water, then cooked over high heat. ≈ 3 min
- Once the water has boiled, the heat is turned off.
- Once the water temperature has dropped, a soft, absorbent cloth is used to wipe both sides of the corn leaves, removing the soil and sediment. ≈ 3 min
- Next, we empty the container and immerse the corn leaves and bamboo strings in clean water to preserve them. ≈ 3 min
- After folding the banana leaves, pour 3 tablespoons of sticky rice into each leaf, form small, coin-shaped rolls, and secure them with bamboo string. ≈ 3 min
- Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil.
- Place the rice cakes in the water. ≈ 3 min
- Cover the pancakes with water. ≈ 3 min
- During cooking, make sure the water always covers the pancakes, and add more boiling water if needed.
- The cooked rice crepes should be stored in the refrigerator after being removed from the heat.
