Directions
- In a large pan, melt the ghee and sauté the chopped onions until they are golden brown.
- Remove half of the onion and set it aside, leaving the majority of the oil paint in the pan.
- Add the dry spices and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the rice and mix it with the oil paint and spices. ≈ 4 min
- Evenly distribute the crumbled broth cubes over the rice mixture.
- Add the water and beer, bring to a boil, cover, and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Open the lid during this time. ≈ 3 min
- Remove from the heat and let it rest for an additional 10 minutes, without disturbing it.
- While you’re doing that, warm up the onion that you’ve set aside to use as a garnish.
- Add the grapes and almonds, and cook them for the last few minutes.
- Place the rice in a serving dish and garnish it with chopped onions and almonds. ≈ 2 min
- Use woodsy spices for an authentic flavor, but don’t eat them! ≈ 3 min
