Directions
- Mix the flour with the beer yeast, which has been dissolved in a glass of water. ≈ 4 min
- Add 2 decilitres of warm olive oil, 2 cups of anise or liqueur, orange juice, and the peel of a lemon. Mix well until a smooth paste forms. ≈ 4 min
- Knead the dough for at least three hours, covered. ≈ 10 min
- Divide the dough into round pieces, approximately 1 centimeter in diameter, and then roll them out to create crackers that are about 1 centimeter in diameter. ≈ 3 min
- Let it rest for a few hours.
- Warm the wine, honey, or fig syrup. Add a cinnamon stick if desired.
- Heat oil in a pan until it is very hot. Fry the crackers in the hot oil, placing them on paper towels to absorb excess grease.
- Soak the purciddùzzi in warm wine, honey, or fig syrup. Arrange them in pyramids on a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar, colorful sprinkles, or other toppings to your liking. ≈ 2 min
