Pumpkin-flavored wholemeal bread
A soft, wholemeal bread with an orange hue, made with pumpkin puree, proofed three times before being baked for 45 minutes in a hot oven.
This wholemeal bread gets its attractive orange color from pumpkin puree. After three rises, it takes 45 minutes to bake and produces a loaf of approximately 1 kg, which is soft and fragrant.

Directions
- Boil the pumpkin in water or in a stew, puree it, and let it cool.
- Place the flour in a large mixing bowl, make a well in the center, and pour in the puree. Sprinkle the salt around the edge, and then add the oil or butter. ≈ 3 min
- Knead for about 5 minutes in a food processor, adding a little water if the dough is too dry.
- Let it rise for 40 minutes under a clean cloth. Deflate the dough, reshape it into a ball, and let it rise for another 15 minutes.
- Place the dough on a griddle and let it rise again for 40 minutes, covered with a cloth.
- Preheat the oven with a rotisserie function to 220 °C (425 °F) so that it is hot when the meat is ready, then place it in the oven and bake for 45 minutes.
