Directions
- Ask your host whether they have a suitable plate, such as a serving plate or a large platter. ≈ 2 min
- Cut off the green top of the pineapple, keeping enough of the fruit to form a little bush on the platter. ≈ 3 min
- Cut the pineapple in half lengthwise. ≈ 8 min
- Place one half on the plate, cut side down, to form the island. ≈ 3 min
- Thread a few bunches of grapes onto each skewer. Leave some space at the bottom to push the two “palm trunks” into the pineapple. ≈ 3 min
- Cut the bell pepper in half across the middle in a zigzag pattern. If you cut this zigzag all the way around, you’ll get two pepper halves with “teeth” that look like a crown. If you’ve made these “teeth” longer, the halves will look like the top of a palm tree. ≈ 8 min
- Remove the seeds from the pepper and attach a tuft of pepper leaves to each of the two plants. ≈ 3 min
- Cut the other pineapple half into slices and arrange them on the platter to look like waves breaking against the island. ≈ 8 min
- Add the extra grapes as a final decoration. ≈ 2 min
- The pineapple island is now finished. ≈ 3 min
