Directions
- Pour the water into a pot or a large container. ≈ 3 min
- Add the sugar to the water. ≈ 3 min
- Add orange juice concentrate or orange syrup. ≈ 3 min
- Bring the mixture to a boil.
- To make orange soda, mix one part syrup with three parts carbonated water. Use carbonated water from a soda machine or a bottled brand. Avoid using mineral water, as the minerals can affect the taste. Also, avoid using carbonated water with added flavors, as these can also alter the taste. ≈ 3 min
- Wash two oranges. ≈ 8 min
- Peel the skin of 1 ½ oranges (but do not remove the white part). ≈ 3 min
- Mix the sugar with the grated rind, and stir well. ≈ 4 min
- Place the skins in the refrigerator with the sugar for 24 hours.
- Squeeze half an orange and mix the juice with the peel and sugar mixture. Stir well. ≈ 4 min
- Filter the mixture of skin, juice, and sugar to obtain syrup. This will produce approximately 120g of syrup. ≈ 3 min
- To make orange soda, mix one part syrup with five parts carbonated water. Use carbonated water from a soda machine or a bottled brand. Avoid using mineral water, as the minerals can affect the taste. Also, avoid using carbonated water with added flavors, as these can also alter the taste. ≈ 3 min
- Mix the liqueur or dissolved gum arabic with the essential oil paints. Stir well. ≈ 4 min
- Place this mixture in a larger container. ≈ 3 min
- Add the food coloring, citric acid, water, and sugar to this container. Mix well. ≈ 4 min
