Glögg is a warm and comforting drink, typical of Swedish Christmas celebrations. It’s the perfect time to gather with family and enjoy this delicious beverage.

Directions

  1. Chop the cinnamon sticks into small pieces and place all the spices in a container. ≈ 8 min
  2. Keep the spices away. ≈ 3 min
  3. Mix the yeast with a small amount of water. ≈ 4 min
  4. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl. ≈ 3 min
  5. Let it rest and ferment for 3 weeks, covering the container with a towel.
  6. Prepare the glögg and pour it into clean bottles. ≈ 3 min
  7. Store for approximately 1 year. ≈ 3 min

  • One bottle of red wine
  • 1 tablespoon of liquor
  • 20 cloves of allspice
  • 5 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tablespoon of ground cardamom seeds
  • One piece of ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of grapefruit zest (or orange zest)
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups of vanilla sugar
  • 5 liters of light beverage
  • 2.5 kg of sugar
  • 50 g of yeast
  • 2 bags of whole carrot seeds
  • 1 packet of cardamom seeds
  • 1-2 small pieces of dried ginger, whole
  • 500 g of grapes
  • 3 raw, peeled, and sliced apples
