Directions
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla sugar, eggs, and mix vigorously until the sugar is completely dissolved. ≈ 4 min
- Mix the flour and baking powder together and gently incorporate them into the dough. The dough should have a consistency that allows it to fall off a spoon, but without being too liquid. If necessary, add milk gradually, until the desired consistency is achieved. ≈ 4 min
- Grease a cake pan. Then, pour about half of the batter into the pan. ≈ 3 min
- In a separate bowl, mix the cocoa powder with the chocolate and a little milk to create a dark paste. Incorporate this paste into the remaining dough, mixing gently. ≈ 4 min
- Next, divide the brown mixture into small portions and spread it evenly over the plain dough. Then, using a fork, create spiral indentations in the dough to create the marbled pattern. ≈ 3 min
- Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 55 to 70 minutes. Let it cool slightly before removing it from the oven.
