Linz Tart
A sweet almond tart, flavored with cinnamon and cloves, topped with raspberry jam.
Linz tart is an Austrian specialty, but it works well in our Belgian ovens. Here’s how to make it.

Directions
- Combine the sugar, butter, and eggs until you have a smooth, even mixture. ≈ 4 min
- Add the dry ingredients: flour, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Mix well. ≈ 4 min
- Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 12 hours.
- Spread the dough to a thickness of about 0.5 cm and use it to line a buttered pie dish. Form a border with a 1 cm wide strip of dough. ≈ 10 min
- Cut out a portion of the dough and generously cover the tart with the raspberry jam. ≈ 8 min
- Place the remaining strips in a criss-cross pattern on top of the jam, overlapping them. ≈ 3 min
- Brush the edges and straps with egg yolk. ≈ 4 min
- Bake in the oven at 180 °C for 45 minutes.
