Directions
- Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks. ≈ 2 min
- Place the yolks in a blender and add the fine sugar, blend for about 5 minutes.
- Add the grated orange zest and mix well. ≈ 4 min
- Incorporate the ground almonds and flour, and mix until a smooth dough forms. ≈ 4 min
- Preheat the oven to 200 °C (thermostat 7).
- Whip the egg whites to stiff peaks, adding a pinch of salt. ≈ 10 min
- Gently fold the egg whites into the dough and mix thoroughly. ≈ 4 min
- Pour the mixture into a round mould about 25 cm in diameter. ≈ 3 min
- Bake for approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
- Let cool, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Cut into small squares and serve as bite-sized desserts. ≈ 8 min
