The black rice is cooked in a broth made from soaking small black mushrooms, which gives it its color and flavor. Shrimp and smoked fish add to the dish.

Directions
- Soak the black mushrooms in cold water for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight. Save the soaking water.
- Heat up some oil paint and salt in a pot.
- Return the shrimp and chopped fish to the pan with the onion, minced garlic, salt, and half of the seasoning cube.
- Let it simmer for 5 minutes, then add 2 cups of water to cook the shrimp and infuse the liquid with their flavor.
- Add the pre-washed rice. If you would like to add vegetables, now is the time. ≈ 3 min
- Pour the mushroom soaking water, in an amount sufficient to cook the rice.
- Adjust the seasoning with salt, using no more than half of the remaining cube. ≈ 2 min
- Cook for 15 minutes over high heat, then for 10 minutes over low heat.
