Murukku is a popular, crunchy snack widely enjoyed in southern India. In Kerala, it is particularly prepared for Diwali and Onam. The base ingredients are rice flour and roasted lentil urad, which are formed into a shape using a press and then deep-fried.

Directions
- Make sure to thoroughly cook the rice flour, then let it cool.
- Add the pre-cooked and powdered urad lentils.
- In a bowl, combine all the ingredients with the butter, sesame seeds, and salt. ≈ 4 min
- Add a little hot water to form a soft dough. ≈ 3 min
- Fill a murukku press with dough, and then drop spirals into the hot oil paint.
- Fry both sides until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
- Let it cool completely, then store it in an airtight container.
