This homemade ketchup is made with mulberry tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, and a few spices. After an hour of simmering, it is blended and bottled.

Directions

  1. Wash the tomatoes and chop them into pieces. ≈ 8 min

  3. Place the tomatoes and onion in the pot, without any water. Heat until the tomatoes begin to boil, then reduce the heat.
  4. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. ≈ 4 min
  5. Let it cook for about 1 hour, uncovered, so that the water evaporates and the sauce thickens. Stir occasionally to prevent it from sticking.
  6. Remove the bay leaf and cinnamon. ≈ 3 min
  7. Blend the sauce in a blender, with an immersion blender, or pulse it in a food processor. ≈ 4 min
