Directions
- Thoroughly wash the sticky rice, then dry-fry it until it turns a light golden brown.
- Crush the grilled rice, then sift it.
- Cut the coconuts in half and grill them, along with their shells, then clean them and grate the flesh.
- Combine the rice, shredded coconut, palm sugar, and salt until you have a smooth mixture. ≈ 4 min
- Wrap the preparation in a palm areca leaf casing (upih), about the size of a beer bottle, or in a banana leaf if that’s not available. ≈ 3 min
- Bake until the cake is slightly dry.
