Atyever soup is a traditional recipe from Nigeria, eaten by the Tiv people. It is simple to make and adds a unique touch of flavor to your meal.

Directions

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan.
  2. Add the atyever leaves and cook for 7 minutes.
  3. Add the palm oil, catfish, and the chili and tomato purée. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the Maggi bouillon and the salt. Stir gently until the soup thickens.
  5. Serve hot. ≈ 2 min

  • 400 ml water
  • 100 g atyever leaves, washed and sliced
  • 2 tbsp palm oil
  • 1 smoked dried catfish, rinsed
  • 2 tbsp chili and tomato purée
  • 1 packet Maggi bouillon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
