Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 225 °C. Peel and chop the apples into small pieces, then mix them with the sugar, cinnamon, and zest of a lemon.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar, cinnamon, and lemon zest. Add the melted butter and mix until a smooth dough forms. ≈ 4 min
  3. Pour the apple mixture into a buttered tart tin. Cover with the spread and place it in the center. ≈ 3 min
  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes (a larger cake will take longer to cook, until the shortcrust pastry releases easily from the edges). Let cool before serving.
