Mi ongklok is a specialty dish from Wonosobo, in Central Java. It consists of noodles and eggs simmered in a thick beef broth thickened with starch, along with cabbage and scallions.

Directions

  1. Combine the Allium ascalonicum, Allium sativum, and pepper, then add this mixture back to the hot oil with the salt, stirring until it is fragrant.
  2. Add the boiled beef pieces.
  3. Add the cabbage, Chinese chives, and beef broth, then bring to a boil.
  4. Pour, the sweet soy sauce, then add the cooked noodles. ≈ 3 min
  5. Mix and knead with the diluted starch until you have a thick paste.
  6. Serve hot. ≈ 2 min
