Directions
- Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add the milk and heat until it reaches 37 °C.
- Sprinkle the yeast into a bowl, add the liquid from the dough, and mix. ≈ 4 min
- Add the sugar, salt, and most of the flour. ≈ 3 min
- Knead the dough by hand or with a spatula until it starts to separate from the edges. ≈ 10 min
- Pour, the dough onto a work surface and incorporate the remaining flour. ≈ 4 min
- Knead the dough until it is smooth and no longer sticks. ≈ 10 min
- Return the dough to the bowl, cover it with a clean dishcloth, and let it rise for 30 minutes.
- Divide the dough in half, then roll each half into long strips. ≈ 10 min
- Divide each strip into 6 pieces and shape them into small balls. ≈ 10 min
- Flatten the balls by hand, or use a rolling pin to create small, round cakes about 1 cm thick. ≈ 10 min
- Place them on greased plates. ≈ 3 min
- Use a fork or cookie cutter to cut the cakes. ≈ 3 min
- Let it rise for 30 minutes under a sheet of parchment paper.
- Bake in the oven, in the center, for about 10 minutes at 225-250 °C.
